Prof. Dr. med. Eva Peters leitet seit 2010 das Psychoneuroimmunologie Labor an der Klinik für Psychosomatik der Justus-Liebig Universität in Giessen.


Sie hat sich im Fach Psychoneuroimmunologie habilitiert und ist Doppelfachärztin sowohl für Dermatologie als auch für Psychosomatik. Zusätzlich ist sie zertifizierte Psychoonkologin sowie Neurodermitis und Urtikaria Trainerin und in der Zusatzausbildung zur Systemischen Psychotherapeutin.


Sie ist Sprecherin des Arbeitskreises Psychosomatische Dermatologie (AkPsychDerm) der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Dermatologie (DDG) und Mitgründerin der Arbeitsgruppe molekulare Psychosomatik (AG MolPsych) in der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Psychosomatische Medizin (DGPM) und war über ein Jahrzehent Sprecherin des Arbeitskreises Neuroendokrinoimmunologie (AKNEI) der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Immunologie (DGFI). Sie arbeitete wissenschaftlich, didaktisch und klinisch u.a. an der Boston University, USA, der Bradford University, UK, der Universitätsklinik Hamburg Eppendorf und der Medizinischen Hochschule Brandenburg. Neben Humanmedizin studierte sie Philosophie, Politik und Theaterwissenschaften an der FU und HU Berlin und war Mitglied der Interdisziplinären Arbeitsgruppe „Übung am Phantom“, die Ausstellungen, Seminare und Filmreihen zu Genderthemen u.a. in den Kunstwerken Berlin durchführte.


In Wissenschaft, Lehre und klinische Aktivität fokussiert Prof. Peters seit Abschluss des „Arzt im Praktikum“ und Approbation als Ärztin 2001 auf Stress und Stressfolgen für körperliche und seelische Gesundheit. Ihre interdisziplinären Erkenntnisse bringt sie u.a. in die Leitlinienentwicklung der AWMF als Initiatorin der S3-Leitlinienentwicklung „Psychosomatische Dermatologie“ ein, sowie als Mitautorin der Leitlinien für „Long-/Post-COVID“, „Neurodermitis“, „Prävention von Allergie und Asthma“ sowie „Trans-Gesundheit“. Seit 1997 hat sie mit Stand Ende 2024 85 Originalarbeiten, 56 Übersichtsarbeiten und Kongressberichte sowie zahlreiche Buchbeiträge in einschlägigen Lehrbüchern wie „Psychosomatik: Neurobiologisch fundiert und evidenzbasiert, ein Lehr- und Handbuch“ und „Uexküll, Psychosomatische Medizin“ verfasst. Ihr kumulativer Gesamt-Impact-Faktor liegt laut ISI Web of Knowledge mit Stand Ende 2024 bei 529.7 Impact Punkten und sie hat laut Google Scholar einen Hirsch-Index von 59.
